You've chosen your photographer. The deposit has been paid & the date is on the calendar.  Now, what to wear?  Coordinating outfits don't have to be stressful.  I'm here to help!  The first thing I always suggest is to consider the color schemes in your home.  Knowing that your images will soon be displayed on your walls, think about how they will look when incorporated into the décor of your living spaces.  Is your home monochromatic with neutral tones?  Or is it rich with color?  Even if you get stuck here, going with something neutral is always a win.

Mommas, we are SO hard on ourselves!  Start with your outfit.  Choose something that you feel great in!  If you have any problem areas pay close attention when picking out something that's the most flattering.  Even try different standing & sitting positions to make sure!  You see mom here in a navy jumpsuit.  It is super flattering & looks great with the patterns she chose for her family.

From head to toe, these two sisters are perfectly coordinated in  Janie & Jack pieces.  I love that they are not matching exactly but that the patterns are inverted.  Mom chose a dress for older sister with the cutest velvet navy sneakers.  And for little sister, the coordinating patterned pants & peplum top polished off with navy mary janes.

Finishing up with brother & dad, we have them in coordinating blue shirts with small patterns that don't compete with each other, or sisters, & aren't too busy.  As for bottoms, they're both in dark denim to balance all the navy.  When thinking about patterns you want to consider all the different groupings that you will be taking at your photo session.  For example, mom & dad together, siblings together, dad with kids, mom with kids & the whole group. This helps you avoid clashing colors & pattern combinations.
There really are so many options & varieties for styling your family photo session.  You can even shop your own closets!  The best thing to remember is that while outfit choices make for a nice cohesive look in your photos, it's really all about capturing the moments together, documenting your growing family's connections & milestones that make for the best photos!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!  Fall family photo season that is, & I am diving back into blogging!  It is a crazy time of year for me, not only in my business, but with kids sports & LSU/Saints football games & birthdays all in the mix while getting ready for the holidays!  It's crazy town but I welcome the chaos. I love this season & I love to watch your families grow each year!  I consider it an honor when you choose ME again & again to be YOUR photographer.  And how sweet it is meeting new families each year.  This little dude isn't new to my camera but his family was my first official fall mini session of the season! We had lots of giggles & snuggles, a few tears but hey kids are kids right?  I pride myself in being able to capture children and families in a raw organic way.  No forced posing or smiles, just you being you & kids being kids.  Makes  for a super laid back & fun session.  If you are still with me, thanks for reading & now I leave you with a few of my favorites from this family of 3 soon to be 4!

Jordan's Senior Portrait Session...Frisco, Texas Senior Photographer

See guys!  Senior portraits are for you too!  Jordan was a lot of fun & I loved spending time with him & his mom & grandma.  Killer smile, meets charm & sophistication with this look & downtown feel.  No doubt his mom loved seeing him all dressed up too, but his smile was his best accessory!  We finished up at his school with a casual outfit.  A simple henley with jeans showed his casual side perfectly.  He was so relaxed & easy going & that made for some awesome shots.  And check out that light y'all! We soaked every bit of those golden rays up until the very last drop went over the fence line behind the ball field.    Excited to share some of my favorites from his session...

Nicolette's Senior Portrait Session...Frisco, Texas Senior Photographer

Gorgeous day!  Gorgeous light!  Gorgeous girl!  Nicolette totally rocked her senior session & I loved hanging with her & her mom.  Something unique about her is that she has two different color eyes! One blue & one brown.  How cool is that?!  I loved the variety in her outfits that she chose to show off her style & her make up by Shelby at The Style House in Frisco, Texas was worth adding another GORGEOUS!  We started with a walk around downtown McKinney, Texas which is the perfect location for an urban look.  She chose a super cute off the shoulder top in the perfect shade of pink & paired it with a fun denim skirt from Pac Sun.  A quick wardrobe change gave her a new look that showed off her casual side.  Loved this white top!  With distressed denim & wedges, outfit #2 was complete.  For her last look she wanted something organic with a flowy dress & she nailed it.  Wanelo for the win! Perfect pop of color, tiny floral print, off the shoulders & it screamed "Spring!".  The nature preserve was the backdrop we chose to seal the deal on her statement senior session.  And dang did she make a statement!  Here are a few images from her collection...
